In this module, students are taught advanced knowledge of adhesive bonding technology. This includes the material fundamentals to be taken into account, the manufacturing implementation of the processes as well as aspects of the design and calculation of the resulting component joint. Students are qualified to use adhesive bonding solutions in product development and production. They will be able to plan, organize and monitor adhesive bonding processes and control and, if necessary, vary process parameters. After successful completion of the module, students are able to create work instructions and instruct employees in adhesive bonding technology in theory and practice.

For the module Adhesive Bonding Technology, two lectures and two exercises are held by the Chair of Lightweight Structures. The content of these lectures and exercises is the analysis and calculation of bonded joints In addition to the analytical consideration, the FEM is used as an aid for the calculation. In addition, the failure of bonded joints due to a nonlinear detachment process is considered with a numerical model in a PC exercise.
